Our exclusive New Horizon range is manufactured by the UK 's market leader of memory foam sleep products. All mattresses have an overall depth of 20cm and come with a removable quilted cover. We offer a selection of three memory foam depths, 5cm, 7cm and 10cm with a foam density of 55Kg/m3. These are in turn bonded to a supporting foam base made with British Vita foam which has a resilience rating of 34 regular.
The softness or hardness of memory foam is a crucial factor in determining comfort. Memory foam firmness is calculated by its ILD rating. Indentation load deflection or sometimes called indentation force deflection (IFD).This records the amount of force needed in pounds to indent a 1.25m² disc into a 40cmx40cmx10cm memory foam sample creating a 2.5cm indentation and is known as ILD at 25% compression. ILD ratings for memory foam range between super soft (10) and semi rigid (120). The majority of memory foam mattress ILD ratings are between 12 -16. Our New Horizon memory foam mattresses have an ILD rating of 16 which confirms the supreme quality of our memory foam. TEMPUR mattresses have a rating of 15.
Memory foam will mould to your body shape whatever size and spread your body weight evenly over the surface of your mattress. This means your body weight is not concentrated in any one place reducing pressure on the spine and other joints enabling a more peaceful and restful sleep.

Which memory foam mattress is best suited for me?
A memory foam mattress is a completely different concept to a traditional spring mattress and therefore cannot be rated soft or hard in the conventional way.
If you are of a light build the New Horizon 50 mattress will be sufficient. However, if you would like a more luxurious feeling then the New Horizon 70 would also be suitable.
For persons of a medium to heavy build the New Horizon 70 or New Horizon 100 are perfectly suitable. If you are on the heavier side or prefer that extra snug cosy feeling then the New Horizon 100 is the recommended mattress.
